Kurata in Lake Oswego

We know what the real Japanese food is. I definitely recommend Kurata Restaurant.My husband and I have been living in Tokyo for over 15 years. I know what real Japanese food is. I would definitely recommend Kurata's restaurant.

The sushi is amazing!

A hidden gem in Lake Oswego. Very small and cozy with a sushi bar that seats maybe 4 people. Our new go-to local Japanese place and one of the very few that actual has a variety of bento boxes. Everything was fresh and presented beautifully. Probably the best dragon roll I've had in a long time.

Best sushi in LO! Really.

Nice little restaurant in a cosy area of Lake Oswego. Prices were reasonable considering the area we were in and everything was well done. The sushi and fish we ate were quality and the rest of the food was served very quickly. Definitely a place in the back of my mind to return to. Their menu also had options and differences other Japanese restaurants tended to lack. I enjoyed the variety of options and will return when I visit Lake Oswego.

Great sushi! Excellent quality.

Been coming here for years, even after moving away from Lake O. The owners are wonderful folks and the food is always consistently excellent. Even on a busy night, the small space doesn’t get overly loud or boisterous. It’s pricey, sure, but the sushi, bentos and chirashi bowls are always good! Give them a visit!

Very small yet pleasant Japanese restaurant serving fairly standard but quality Japanese fare. Sushi, teriyaki, tempura, combo bento boxes and such is what I’m referring to. My review is limited mainly to sashimi which is what we were all in the mood for. I had salmon, tuna and yellowtail - all very fresh and very good. The atmosphere is quiet, calm and relaxed, at least the night I was there which was Tuesday evening. Service is similarly not harried so don’t come here if you are in a mad rush. On the flip-side, if you are looking to have a quiet conversation with your +1 or friends without having to shout above a loud din, this is the spot for you.

Delicious. Worth the visit!

We had a sushi roll, several pieces of nigiri, miso soup, and the shrimp dumplings. It was all fantastic. We just happened to find this place while visiting Lake Oswego but if we come back we'll definitely go here again.

I always enjoy coming here. The staff is so friendly, the tables are clean, and the sushi is delicious. I’m pretty picky when it comes to sushi so I’m very happy to have discovered this little gem.

Very good Japanese food in a small family run restaurant with friendly service.

It was good. Be ready to pay for lake oswego rent, but I didn't feel like I was really paying a surcharge. Lots of options to dial in your meal. Three of us were able to share and try most of the menu. I wish the sake menu was more diverse.

The best place for sushi in Lake Oswego. Family owned and very friendly atmosphere. It's a small space and the hours are limited. If you arrive with a zen attitude, you will not be disappointed.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Lake Oswego. Cozy personal atmosphere. I'm not a sushi eater but my father is, and he insists it's the best sushi in LO. Loved the asparagus Maki appetizer and the tempura dinner. The chawanmushi is also good if your looking for something unusual.

I lived in Japan for twelve years, so I can be a bit picky about sushi places. I love this place. Great atmosphere. Excellent food. It's small, with limited tables. Your order may take some time, each piece is made to order. This is not a fast food joint, be patient and enjoy the experience.
